On October 17, 2025, the Udonis Haslem Foundation (UDF) commemorated its 20th anniversary with a community-wide celebration and blood drive at the Grifols Blood Donation Center on NE 5th Avenue in Miami. The event brought together residents, sponsors, and partners to celebrate the Foundation’s lasting impact while giving back in a meaningful way.
Founded in 2005 by Miami HEAT legend Udonis Haslem, the Foundation has spent two decades addressing socio-economic and mental health challenges among underserved populations in South Florida. Through its programs, UDF has supported youth development, education, affordable housing, minority-owned businesses, and mental wellness initiatives—creating opportunities and access for those who need it most.

The anniversary event invited community members to roll up their sleeves and donate blood during Grifols’ regular hours, with the option to contribute a portion of their donor compensation to the Foundation. The collected donations supported Grifols’ efforts in providing essential biological materials used in diagnostic tools and therapeutic innovations that advance global healthcare.
“For me, this 20-year milestone isn’t just about the Foundation—it’s about Miami,” said Udonis Haslem, Founder of the Udonis Haslem Foundation and Vice President of Basketball Development for the Miami HEAT. “It’s about the people who’ve been riding with us since day one and the ones we continue to serve.

Celebrating here today and organizing a blood drive is another way for us to give back and make a real impact right here at home. We’re talking about saving lives, supporting families, and showing what it looks like when a community comes together for something bigger than ourselves.”
The celebration concluded with Haslem joining supporters in recognizing the Foundation’s achievements and reaffirming its commitment to creating more hope, access, and opportunity in the years ahead.
