On Monday, December 22, 2025, the Udonis Haslem Foundation proudly hosted its 17th Annual B-Wootie Holiday Program, continuing a cherished tradition dedicated to recognizing and celebrating students who have demonstrated academic excellence, resilience, and determination.

This year, 100 outstanding students from Miami-Dade and Broward County schools were honored with a memorable holiday experience designed to celebrate their hard work and remind them how deeply their community believes in them. Students from Lake Stevens Elementary, Miami Norland Elementary, Lorah Park Elementary, and Special Olympics Florida were selected to participate in the day’s events.
The celebration began with a $200 shopping spree at Walmart in Hialeah, where each student was paired with a chaperone and given the freedom to shop for items of their choice — whether that meant toys, clothing, personal care items, or gifts for their families. For many students, the experience extended beyond holiday joy, offering a moment of pride, independence, and recognition for their achievements throughout the school year.

Following the shopping experience, the students were treated to an afternoon of rides, games, and festive fun at Christmas Wonderland, where laughter and holiday magic filled the day. The program concluded with students heading home not only with gifts, but with lasting memories and a powerful reminder that their efforts matter.

The B-Wootie Holiday Program is held annually in honor of Barbara Wooten, the late co-founder of the Foundation and beloved stepmother of Udonis Haslem. Her legacy of compassion, generosity, and unwavering belief in children continues to guide this program year after year.
The Foundation was grateful to once again partner with Chick-fil-A Hialeah, who generously provided lunch for all participants, as well as Toys for Tots Miami, who gifted each student additional toys. In partnership with Special Olympics Florida, the School Pantry Coalition also provided care packages for students to take home to their families.
The Udonis Haslem Foundation extends sincere appreciation to all participating sponsors and partners whose support made this year’s program possible, including The Miami HEAT Charitable Foundation, Christmas Wonderland, TD Bank, and Barry and Marcia Ringelheim.

“For me, this program has always been about serving the community that raised me,” said Udonis Haslem, Founder of the Udonis Haslem Foundation. “The holiday shopping spree goes beyond the presents. It’s a chance to inspire and let these young people know that their hard work is recognized and that they matter.”
